ΑΝΔΡΟΚΛΟС ΚΟΡΗСΟС ΕΦΕ Androklos, on the right, standing left, clasping hands with the mountain-god Koressos, on the left, standing right. Karwiese 146 (this coin). RPC III 2049 corr. (obverse legend). Very rare. Somewhat rough as usual, otherwise, very fine.

The reverse shows Androklos, son of Kodros of Athens and the mythological founder of Ephesus, together with the mountain-god Koressos. According to Strabon, Androklos defeated the Carians and Lelegians and expanded the boundaries of the city to the Koressos.
